US Clinical Experience
The Bangladesh Medical Association of North America (BMANA) is proud to introduce a new program designed to support residency applicants by providing invaluable US clinical experience. In collaboration with its esteemed members, BMANA will offer young physicians of Bangladeshi origin the opportunity to participate in clinical rotations across multiple specialties throughout the United States. This program is offered at no cost to the participants and includes the potential to receive a letter of recommendation (LOR) upon successful completion, at the discretion of the mentors.
Program Highlights
Clinical Rotations with US Physicians:
Participants will gain firsthand experience working alongside seasoned US physicians, providing a comprehensive understanding of the American healthcare system.
Active Involvement in Patient Care:
The program includes involvement in patient care teams, both in operational and inpatient settings, ensuring a well-rounded clinical experience.
Skill Refinement:
Participants will have the opportunity to enhance their history-taking and physical examination skills, which are critical for clinical practice.
Performance-Based Letters of Recommendation:
Successful completion of the rotation may result in a performance-based LOR, significantly boosting residency applications.

Requirements for the Candidates
- Bangladeshi Origin: The primary eligibility criterion is that the applicant must be a physician of Bangladeshi origin, aligning with BMANA’s mission to support Bangladeshi physicians.
- BMANA adjunct member: Apply to become a BMANA adjunct member by clicking the link.
- Future Commitment: Candidates must commit to becoming a BMANA member after a successful residency match and pledge to support future participants in the program.
Requirements for Mentors
- US Certified Physician: Mentors must be certified physicians in the United States.
- Voluntary Participation: Mentorship is entirely voluntary, with no monetary or other compensation. Mentors will guide trainees in history-taking, examination, and other aspects of patient care.
